Cold-Weather Favorites: Winter Knitwear Worth Adding to Your Closet

I’m all about cozy knitwear during the winter months, and I’ve found some really nice options at Nordstrom lately. Today I’m styling a few of my favorites. These three winter outfits feature cozy sweaters, wide-leg jeans, and ankle boots—effortless combinations that will keep you warm without compromising on style. Whether you’re heading out for a casual day or dressing up for the season’s festivities, these pieces strike the perfect balance between comfort and polish.

This luxe wool & cashmere turtleneck sweater is from the Nordstrom brand, which I’ve learned gives you a lot of bang for your buck because you aren’t paying extra for a designer label. This sweater looks and feels much more expensive than it is, and while it’s still a bit of an investment, it’s one that you will enjoy for many years.

The knit is thick and and dense and super cozy and warm. I really like those ribbed cuffed sleeves and the boxy fit with the side slits. The ribbed turtleneck is tall enough to fold over, and it’s not too tight against the neck. It comes in a bunch of colors, but this Red Grape is really gorgeous.

I paired this cozy turtleneck with a pair of wide leg jeans in a medium indigo wash that has some subtle sandblasting to the thigh. My exact wash sold out, but I found this MOTHER pair that’s slightly darker, and I also can vouch for this pair of Hint of Blu wide leg jeans as a more budget-friendly alternative. They’re very flattering and nice quality for under $100.

I kept it classic with black leather boots and this chic geometric crossbody bag, although it seems the bag sold out in the black. I didn’t realize when I photographed it! I found a couple of similar options here and here. Also, these Marc Fisher boots are similar to mine, and here’s a lower heel option, for those who need that.

Fair isle knits are trending this season, and this black and white Lucky Brand turtleneck version caught my eye. I really like the print, and this sweater is a soft comfortable knit with a light and airy texture, very comfortable with a slightly relaxed fit.

It also has the side slits and hangs a little longer in the back. Both of these sweaters have a similar shape, and I personally love that 23″ front length.

I styled this sweater with the same jeans, but I feel like this sweater lends itself to a slightly more rugged boot, so I wore a pair of Chelsea boots from the #NSale that recently sold out. (This pair is similar.)

I personally love turtleneck sweaters, and I’m thrilled they’re having a moment this year, but I’m also enjoying the shorter v-neck cardigans. I couldn’t resist this Vince Donegal Cashmere V-Neck Cardigan when I saw it in-store.

The 100% cashmere knit is super thick and soft and luscious, and the color variation in the donegal knit is so pretty in person. This sweater is a splurge, for sure, but it’s currently 25% off! Hey, every little bit helps. I also found this more budget-friendly option from the Nordstrom brand, and it even has similar contrasting buttons.

This time, I wore my FRAME Le Slim Raw Fray Hem Palazzo Jeans in the black wash for a chic monochromatic look, and once again, I have options! The KUT from the Kloth Meg comes in a very similar wash, and they’re under $100 and fully stocked.

I wore pointy toe black boots with a 3″ heel to elongate my silhouette and balance the width of the jeans, and it’s hard to see, but I added a pendant necklace similar to this one to help fill the neckline.

I hope this post gives you some ideas for updating your knitwear this season! Best of all, staying warm and stylish in the winter has never been easier, thanks to Nordstrom’s generous return policy and free shipping on every order. And don’t forget about their BOPUS (Buy Online Pick Up in Store) and contactless curbside pickup options.
